The Excelsior Springs Historical Museum contains an array of newspaper clippings, photographs, diaries, scrapbooks and other documents, as well as various exhibits, telling the history of the area. The springs were thought to have healing powers, and since the 1880s people have come to the town for healing and relaxation. The museum is open Tuesday to Saturday from 11am to 4pm.
