Jesse James Bank Museum

The former Clay County Savings Bank is home to the first successful bank robbery committed during the day in the United States. The culprits were the James-Younger Gang, who held up the bank in 1866. Today the museum, named after Jesse James, offers guests tours through the facility, which still holds the original safe from the robbery. It is open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
